There's not much to elaborate on her early life. On December 5th, 1989, Kwon Yuri was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea to both parents, as well as grew up with older brother, Hyukjun. She had a normal childhood although her closeness with her brother meant that she leaned towards a more tomboyish personality and easily charmed most of her brother's friends. Unfortunately, her family wasn't very close in general, leading Yuri to find comfort and solace in friends. And as life is wont to do, her network has shaped her to be the person she is now.Presently, she's better known as a former celebrity newscaster and now prefers to dabble in as many projects as she can. Her Youtube cooking show, 유리한식탁 (Yuri's Winning Recipe), is her primary project. In 2022, she launched her lifestyle brand, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢.

Her channel began as a way to show fans a more casual side of her off-camera, which then turned into an ongoing cooking series where Yuri explores and puts her culinary skill and knowledge to the test, with the help of friends. A student of the well-established Espirit Chef's school, she intensively trained and learnt how to work a kitchen from the basics. She still considers herself an amateur, though she occasionally won't admit so, and enjoys picking up new tips and tricks from binge-watching culinary content and reading up on exciting recipes and food discoveries.The show is currently on a hiatus as she takes a break from the camera to pursue side projects (soon to be announced!).

An avid believer of health and fitness, Yuri began developments for 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢 in early 2021, intending on a launch in July 2021. However, continued Covid-19 restrictions prevented her from moving forward with it and the brand only kickstarted on March 28, 2022. Deciding to ease herself into the fitness equipment scene, she released a lightweight exercise kit with convenience at the forefront.
The brand's official launch into all lifestyle stores nationwide will commence on June 29, 2022. In addition to the exercise kits, the healthier versions of traditional Korean food will also be included — first as a packaged set until the end of July, and then on their own. By the end of the year, they can be found on supermarket shelves as well as be shipped internationally via well-known resellers.The price point will be kept to mid-range, allowing fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life to own their personal set. However, 8% of the total revenue will be donated to ethical animal organizations and women's shelters on a lifelong basis.
